Together we can change the world.

Free Food Giveaway

In Gwinnett County, about 81,160 were considered food insecure before the pandemic, according to Feeding America’s  Map the Meal Gap interactive study.

The study also finds that job loss and other economic crises associated with the coronavirus could push the rate of food insecurity in Gwinnett County to 14.3 percent by the end of the year.

Our goal is to provide food as often as we can to those in need. Your donations will determine how often we can do this. At a minimum we will have food giveaways on a monthly basis even if it means coming out of our own pockets to make this happen.

Financial Literacy Training

40% of Americans struggle to pay their bills on time. The average household carries $16,000 in credit card debt. 44% say they could not cover an unexpected expense of $400 dollars.

It’s ironic that we live in one of the wealthiest countries in the world, but we always have money problems.

According to https://invisiblepeople.tv/

Afinancial survey encouraging Americans to save more money was released in 2019 and exposed that 59% of Americans are currently at risk of homelessness. In fact, they are all just one paycheck away from experiencing homelessness firsthand. The COVID-19 pandemic did a great deal to expose poverty in the United States and create it. In 2020, national poverty climbed at never-before-seen rates, thrusting nearly8 million new Americansinto impoverished despair throughout one solitary summer.

What Is Driving Poverty in the United States? It Might Not be What You Expect.

One of the most baffling things about poverty in the United States is that historically, unemployment rates can drop while poverty rates continue to increase. Such was the case recently, in March of 2021.

The root causes for the spike in poverty, which is disconnected from the unemployment rate, are as follows:

  • Expiration of benefits
  • Underemployment
  • Rent burden
  • Food insecurity
  • Wage stagnation

We don’t have much and most don’t know much. Nobody teaches us how to manage our money in schools. Many are embarrassed to talk about financial issues because of lack of knowledge. Many people have trouble balancing their check book or reading a financial statement.

Our goal is to close the gap by helping you understand how money works and help you to develop simple budgets and strategies that can get you on track and keep you there.

Weekly Bible Study

We acknowledge God’s presence in our lives and our dependence upon Him. We accept God’s challenges with faith and look for His direction in everyday life.
